3580President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed the mutual recognition of national ID cards among Central Asian countries. He made this suggestion today, August 9, at the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders in Kazakhstan.
The tourism sector is emerging as a new driver of regional cooperation. In recent years, the share of domestic regional tourist flow within these countries has increased significantly.
To further enhance tourist exchange, the head of state proposed exploring the mutual recognition of national ID cards and developing mass tourism products based on the principle of "One type - the whole region."
In his speech, the President of Uzbekistan praised the collective efforts to strengthen unity and solidarity in the region and to expand multilateral cooperation.
"Our open and effective dialogues, important initiatives, multilateral projects and programs, numerous joint events, and other such actions have fundamentally transformed the appearance and image of the region," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
He noted that the countries in the region have begun solving important issues through effective cooperation. Mutual trade, investments, cargo transportation volumes, and citizen visits have increased several times. Additionally, foreign interest in the region has grown significantly.
"Today, we can confidently say that the process of forming a regional identity has begun," remarked the President of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that earlier in Astana, during the sixth Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded the "Honorary Badge of the Leaders of the Central Asian Countries."
