Today, March 25, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an iftar event at the “Koksaroy” residence. This was reported by the press service of the President.

The Head of State addressed the ceremony and delivered a speech.

“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamu alaykum, esteemed compatriots, enlightened fathers and mothers!

Esteemed guests!

I once again sincerely congratulate you, dear ones, our entire people, and the entire Muslim community near and far on the ongoing blessed month of Ramadan. I wish you all peace, tranquility, good health, and prosperity.

We express our immense gratitude to the merciful and powerful Allah Almighty for allowing us to hold such a blessed iftar ceremony together with our people in this honorable month in our beautiful land.

Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our esteemed guests participating in our meeting today - ambassadors of foreign countries, representatives of international organizations, and leaders of religious confessions - for the high respect and attention they show to our Motherland and people.

Dear friends!

As you know, in recent years, the national and we are doing a lot to preserve our religious values and develop them in line with the demands of the times.

In this regard, the noble idea of "For the dignity of man, for the happiness of man" is becoming our program of action. On this basis, ensuring the rights and interests of every citizen, regardless of nationality, language, and religion, is taking a leading place in our social life.

The full implementation of the constitutional rights of our citizens in the field of freedom of conscience is becoming even more evident this year during the month of Ramadan.

The good deeds commanded by our holy religion - harmony and solidarity, kindness and generosity, patience and contentment, morality, knowledge and enlightenment - are becoming increasingly strong in our society. In particular, special attention is paid to deeply studying the humanistic essence of the Islamic religion, collecting and widely promoting the masterpieces of our great history and culture, and the rich heritage of our great scholars.

For this noble purpose, the Center for Islamic Civilization, which is being built in Tashkent, is a major scientific and spiritual project being implemented for the first time in Uzbekistan, and is attracting great interest in our country and the international community.

This center embodies the achievements of thousands of years of development and confirms that Islamic civilization developed in our country precisely on the basis of science, education, culture and enlightenment. This place is especially significant for us not only as a monument of the past, but also as it calls our people and youth to the future and inspires them to great discoveries.

As you know, the construction of the magnificent complex of our great compatriot, the sultan of the science of hadith, Imam Bukhari, in Samarkand is also continuing at full speed. Along with a museum and scientific institutions dedicated to the life and work of our great ancestor, a mosque for 10 thousand people is also being built here.

If fate allows, this year we will all solemnly hold the opening ceremony of these two magnificent monuments - the Center of Islamic Civilization and the Imam Bukhari Complex.

We have recently made another important decision in order to further study the invaluable contribution of our people to the Islamic religion and philosophy.

This year, we will widely celebrate the 1155th anniversary of the birth of our thoughtful ancestor, one of the great leaders of theology, Imam Maturidi. In particular, his blessed shrines in Samarkand will be further improved.

Most importantly, these works will be a new and major step in the scientific study of the legacy of Imam Maturidi and the teachings of Maturidi in cooperation with our country and foreign scholars.

Dear friends!

The task of strengthening peace and harmony in our multinational society, strengthening friendship and solidarity between representatives of different nations and religions has always been in the center of our attention.

To this end, we will hold a prestigious international conference in Tashkent and Samarkand in September of this year. This major event, called the “Declarations Dialogue Forum,” is a logical continuation of the conference held in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara in 2022, and will serve as a unique platform for educational dialogue between representatives of different religious beliefs.

At this point, I would like to emphasize once again: the peace and stability that reign in our country are our greatest wealth.

We will continue to resolutely work to preserve this incomparable wealth and strengthen the atmosphere of friendship, equality, and tolerance in our country. We will fully mobilize all our strength and capabilities for this. This issue is especially important for the policy of freedom and openness that we are pursuing in these difficult times.

Dear compatriots!

New Uzbekistan has new priorities, including the status of a social state, which is clearly defined in our Constitution, and is pursuing a people's and humane policy.

Let me give just one example in this regard. Last year alone, 16 trillion soums in material assistance and benefits were provided to people in need. 51 thousand children from low-income families were placed in kindergartens, 176 thousand of them were provided with medical care, and 182 thousand were covered with social services.

Through the "Generosity and Support" fund, about 94 thousand low-income families were reimbursed for 130 billion soums in expenses related to treatment, food, clothing, and utility bills.

Within the framework of the "Women's Notebook", 5 trillion 700 billion soums of assistance were allocated to 3.5 million of our sisters.

Since the introduction of the “Youth Notebook”, 1.3 million 700 billion soums of social assistance have been provided to 1 million 300 thousand needy young people.

Most importantly, these works are being consistently continued.

Dear participants of the ceremony!

Another priority feature of the new Uzbekistan is the path of “green development”.

Today, a new ecological space is being created in our country. The national project “Green Space” is aimed at precisely this goal.

The state program being implemented this year, which was declared the “Year of Environmental Protection and “Green” Economy”, is also an important step in this regard.

Recently, at the meeting of the Interfaith Council, which was held for the first time in an expanded format in the city of Khiva, representatives of religious denominations in our country adopted an appeal aimed at actively participating in this state program.

Of course, we would like to note with gratitude that our respected religious leaders, scholars and enlightened people, and the general public are actively participating in the good deeds of our society.

This year, within the framework of the “Green Space” project, more than 10 thousand trees, about 32 thousand flowers were planted by religious workers in the spring season alone, and 25 hectares of land was improved in mosques and shrines.

It certainly makes us all happy that our country's pilgrims are also setting a personal example in many good deeds and becoming role models.

Last year, our pilgrims, led by Mufti Nuriddin Kholiknazar, put forward the initiative “We will become devotees of a new Uzbekistan and propagators of spirituality.” To date, their initiative has provided financial assistance in the amount of 6 billion 300 million soums to low-income, needy families who have lost their breadwinners.

We all sincerely thank them for such meritorious work.

Dear compatriots!

We all see and know that the situation in the world today is becoming extremely critical and complex.

Unfortunately, the fact that most conflicts and conflicts are taking place in the Islamic world deeply worries us all.

The danger that hotbeds of unrest can expand at any time and spread to entire regions is growing.

In order to ensure peace and stability in Muslim countries, it is more urgent than ever to further strengthen unity and the unity of the Islamic Ummah.

Another issue that should be at the center of our attention is related to the numerous threats aimed at poisoning the hearts and minds of our youth and derailing their lives.

In promoting knowledge and enlightenment for our children and protecting them from the influence of foreign ideas, the role of our respected imams-khatibs, our experienced fathers and mothers, community activists, and pilgrims is, of course, incomparable.

We all highly appreciate your work in this direction.

The teachings of our great grandfather Bahauddin Naqshband, “Let your hands be in work, and your heart be in Allah,” have become our life's creed.

In raising our youth in this spirit, it is very important to teach them to work and to be professional.

In this sense, I believe that our respected enlightened ones, community activists, farmers, and entrepreneurs will teach our youth to work honestly and live tirelessly for the welfare of their families and the country.

Dear friends!

During this blessed month, iftar tables were set up in about 9.5 thousand neighborhoods in our country for low-income and needy families, and charitable works were carried out.

Our muftis and imams-khatibs also actively participated in these local events by going from house to house.

I believe that such charitable ceremonies, held under the slogan "Ramadan is the month of generosity, unity and tolerance," serve to glorify human dignity and further unite all our compatriots with pure intentions.

As our great grandfather Alisher Navoi said, "The work of the good is to do good." Indeed, this life is always bright and continuous precisely because of kindness and goodness.

Therefore, in the blessed month of Ramadan, when good intentions are accepted, and on the eve of Laylatul Qadr, we pray for peace, prosperity, and love in our country and throughout the world.

May our lives always be as bright, blessed, and fruitful as this!

May our pious fathers and mothers be healthy and safe!

May our loving sisters and brothers always be our mountain of support!

May our children become educated, professional, and courageous young people who will glorify our Motherland to the world!

May our country be peaceful, and our hardworking, noble people always be safe!" Mirziyoyev stated.
