Mirziyoyev set out for Kyrgyzstan

The president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev left for the city of Cholponota today 20 July, at the invitation of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov.

The president will take part in the activities of the next consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries.

The meeting agenda for the leaders of the countries of the region included issues of further expansion of practical cooperation in various areas, including trade, transport, logistics, industrial cooperation, innovations, food safety, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian exchange.

Particular attention will be paid to strengthening cooperation and jointly confronting modern threats and risks to the stability and consistent development of Central Asia.
A number of important multilateral documents are expected to be adopted at the end of the summit.

It is noted that the initiative to hold consultative meetings of the leaders of the Central Asian countries was put forward by the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2017.

The first summit of regional leaders was held in Nur-Sultan in March 2018, the second in November 2019 in Tashkent, and the third in August of last year in the national tourist zone "Avaza" in Turkmenistan.
