7149Today, 7 February, a meeting was held in the presence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss measures to reduce inflation this year. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.
It is known that inflation is not only a macroeconomic indicator, it is a factor affecting the income and lifestyle of the population. By the end of 2022, inflation in Uzbekistan was 12.3 percent. Using all economic mechanisms, the aim is to reduce this indicator below 10 percent this year.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that it is necessary to increase the volume of production of consumer goods, including food products, to reduce the cost of delivering them “from the field to the table”, and to ensure that they are affordable. In order to increase the production of agricultural products, instructions were given on the productive use of a total of 200,000 hectares of land allocated to the population.
For the systematic organization of these measures, based on the potential of the regions, the task of developing separate “road maps” for each district and city has been set.
At the meeting, instructions were given on increasing the types of financial services attractive to the population.
