Shavkat Mirziyoyev invites Emomali Rahmon to Uzbekistan

Today 4 May, the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the president of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon.  This was reported by the press service of the President’s Office of Uzbekistan.

At the outset, the Heads of States warmly congratulated each other on the holy holiday of Ramadan and wished peace, happiness, well-being, and prosperity to the fraternal people of the two countries.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of further strengthening of relations of friendship, good neighborhoods and a strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.  At the end of the high-level talks, the implementation of the agreements reached, and the deals adopted were discussed in detail.

Special attention was paid to expanding practical cooperation, including increasing bilateral trade turnover, promoting priority projects of cooperation in industry, energy, agriculture, transport and other fields.

The presidents stressed the need to continue active dialogue and cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the regions.  It was noted that regular meetings at the level of the governments of the two countries and the strengthening of coordination was important to accelerate bilateral projects and multilateral cooperation programs.

“Also, views were exchanged on topical issues on the regional agenda, forthcoming plans of bilateral and multilateral actions were discussed.  As always, the telephone conversation between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was conducted in a spirit of trust and friendship.” The report says.

According to the press service under the president of Tajikistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, invited Emomali Rakhmon to Uzbekistan.  The exact time of the presidential visit has not yet been agreed.
