Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, urged for an immediate halt to the violence in the Gaza Strip and the swift initiation of the peace process. He made these remarks on July 6 at the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Shusha.

"The ongoing bloody conflict in the Gaza Strip for the past nine months is profoundly upsetting and distressing. The loss of nearly 40,000 lives, including many women and children, is indefensible. We demand an immediate cessation of violence and a prompt initiation of the peace process," Mirziyoyev stated.

He emphasized that the creation of an independent and free Palestinian state is crucial for achieving strategic stability and peace in the Middle East.

Mirziyoyev also addressed the situation in Afghanistan.

"Regrettably, the situation in Afghanistan, our neighboring country with millions of Turkic people, is being neglected by the international community due to escalating conflicts elsewhere," remarked the President of Uzbekistan.

He affirmed that Uzbekistan will persist in offering essential support to the Afghan people.

"We believe that returning Afghanistan's 'frozen' financial assets abroad will help improve the social conditions in the country. In the current situation, forming common and unified approaches among our Organization's members regarding Afghanistan should be a primary discussion topic for our foreign ministers," Mirziyoyev stated.
