Bismillahir rahmanir rahim!
Dear Mr. Chairman
Distinguished heads of delegations
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the team of the Two Holy Mosques for organizing this essential summit to address the most pressing issue on the global political agenda—the Palestinian crisis. I especially thank His Highness, Al Saud.
It is deeply disheartening to observe that since our historic meeting in Riyadh in 2023, the scope of this unjust war has expanded. Despite strong calls from the international community, severe violations of international laws continue, with the conflict now extending into Lebanon.
As mentioned by other leaders, these tragic and horrendous attacks, which have taken thousands of innocent lives, including children, women, and the elderly, are turning into one of the darkest chapters of recent history. The destruction of social infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and entire cities, displacing millions who now suffer from hunger and disease, is profoundly distressing.
The greatest tragedy is the double standard by which this crisis is being addressed internationally. This increases the risk of a broader conflict, severely impacting global security.
Uzbekistan's Stance on the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict
Uzbekistan firmly supports all initiatives to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through peaceful, diplomatic means.
We believe that today’s summit will demonstrate a united political will, advancing practical mechanisms and solutions at both global and regional levels.
First, the United Nations and the Security Council must play a much more effective role in ending this long-standing conflict.
Constant attention must be directed toward halting hostilities, creating secure humanitarian corridors, and initiating peace talks.
Second, on November 15, the Palestinian people will celebrate their National Day.
We affirm that this nation, with its ancient and rich heritage, has every right to form an independent and sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital, within the 1967 borders. Uzbekistan fully supports the Global Alliance for a Two-State Solution, spearheaded by Saudi Arabia.
Third, to prevent an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Palestine and Lebanon, we urge increased assistance from our nations and international bodies.
We support bolstering resources for the UN Special Agency and other experienced institutions.
Uzbekistan is also prepared to provide medical treatment for Palestinian children and women injured in the conflict at our hospitals.
Additionally, we intend to discuss further practical assistance for the Palestinian people at the "Gulf Arab States - Central Asia" summit in Samarkand next year.
Fourth, as part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, we must ensure the protection of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and other unique historical and cultural sites in Jerusalem.
Distinguished heads of delegations
I hope today’s emergency summit will be a significant step toward a resolution in the Middle East.
I pray for Almighty God’s blessing for peace and unity in the world and our Ummah.
