Mirziyoyev holds first face-to-face meeting with Czech leader

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a brief meeting with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly on September 23, the President’s press service reported.
It was noted that the discussions focused on further expanding trade and economic cooperation. Specific projects were reviewed in the areas of trade, investment, innovation, transport, agriculture, and other priority sectors.
’’The parties agreed to actively continue interagency contacts,’’ the report said.
This meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel was their first. Until now, the two leaders had not met face-to-face.
It is worth noting that Shavkat Mirziyoyev also held meetings and talks with US President Donald Trump, President of South Korea Lee Jae-myung, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, President of Albania Bajram Begaj, and King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein of Jordan within the framework of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly.
