Mirziyoyev to depart for Kazakhstan to attend “Central Asia–Italy” summit

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to depart for Kazakhstan today, May 30, to take part in the “Central Asia – Italy” summit. The news was confirmed by the Presidential Administration.

“At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will participate in the high-level summit in the ‘Central Asia – Italy’ format, which will be held in Astana on May 30,” the official statement reads.

The event will bring together the leaders of Central Asian nations and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

According to the summit agenda, discussions will focus on the development of multifaceted cooperation, particularly in areas such as the green economy, investment, innovation, science, and education.

It is worth noting that prior to the summit, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visited Uzbekistan on May 28–29.
