Mirziyoyev arrives in Baku

3927Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Baku on November 11 for a business visit at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as reported by the President’s press service.
Upon his arrival at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, President Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, and other officials.
The visit agenda includes Mirziyoyev’s participation in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
The President of Uzbekistan is also scheduled to hold meetings with heads of foreign countries and representatives of international organizations.
During COP29, the Uzbekistan delegation will host high-level events focusing on combating land degradation and desertification, promoting environmental education, and highlighting the role of youth in advancing climate initiatives.
At Uzbekistan’s National Pavilion, special events will showcase solutions to social and ecological challenges in the Aral Sea region, the development of a “green” economy, the adoption of renewable energy and water-saving technologies, food security measures, biodiversity conservation, and over 20 additional activities.
Earlier on November 11, President Mirziyoyev was in Saudi Arabia on a business visit. He met with Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Investment Khalid al-Falih, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. He also delivered remarks at an extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit.
