2753On October 11, during the conclusion of an international forum marking the anniversary of the poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Firoghi, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was honored with a prestigious award. The ceremony was reported by the President’s press service.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan presented the commemorative medal, "300th Anniversary of Makhtumkuli Firoghi," to President Mirziyoyev in a formal ceremony.
Following the award ceremony, President Mirziyoyev concluded his visit to Ashgabat and departed for Tashkent, with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov seeing him off at the airport.
At the forum, which commemorated the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Firoghi’s birth, President Mirziyoyev highlighted the significance of the poet's legacy in fostering solidarity and mutual understanding among nations.
The event, chaired by Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was attended by prominent leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkiyan, and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. Other participants included Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian, parliamentary heads, and high-ranking representatives of international and regional organizations.
As part of the event, President Mirziyoyev also held meetings with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkiyan.
