President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev supported holding a global summit in Ashgabat next year as part of the "International Year of Peace and Trust" announced by the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan. He spoke about this at the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Firoghi, held in Ashgabat today, October 11, on the topic "Interdependence of time and civilizations - the basis of peace and development".

"We welcome the fact that, on the initiative of the leadership of brotherly Turkmenistan, the United Nations General Assembly has declared next year the "Year of International Peace and Trust" and that a unique global dialogue platform is being created in this regard. In particular, we believe that the upcoming international summit, which is planned to be held in Ashgabat next December, will be a great event on a good path, and we are ready to support our Turkmen brothers in every way," said Mirziyoyev.

In his speech, he also emphasized that the holding of the forum will be a huge practical step towards strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between peoples, bringing countries closer to each other, and promoting our rich spiritual heritage to the whole world.

It was noted that the creative heritage of Makhtumquli Firoghi enriched not only Eastern classical poetry, but also world literature. It was noted that Makhtumkuli's work is highly valued in Uzbekistan, that the poet studied at the Shergozi Khan madrasa in Khiva, studied secular and religious sciences, and deeply respected the great Uzbek poet and thinker Alisher Navoi.

It was reported that this year, the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Firoghi is widely celebrated in Uzbekistan. A conference, seminar, literary evening, competition, performances and other events are held. A feature film about the poet was shot by Uzbek and Turkmen filmmakers.

The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, thanked the President of Uzbekistan for his meaningful speech and the measures implemented in the country to perpetuate the memory of Makhtumkuli Firoghi, and announced that Mirziyoyev would be awarded a medal on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and thinker.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkiyan, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, President of the Republic of Armenia Vaghan Khachaturian, leaders and high-ranking representatives of parliaments of foreign countries, heads of international and regional organizations took part in the event chaired by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

At the end of the event, the final document of the forum was adopted.

We remind you that on February 19 of this year Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decision on the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Firoghi in Uzbekistan. According to him, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov heads the organizing committee for the jubilee. As part of the anniversary celebration, it is planned to publish a collection of selected works of Makhtumkuli, scientific articles devoted to his life and creative activity.
