In Uzbekistan, the National Guard will also be authorized to deal with administrative offenses. This is stated in the Law «On Introduction of Amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan», which was considered at the meeting of the fraction of the Democratic Party «Milliy Tiklanish» (National Revival).
It is noted that the law also gives the National Guard the power to consider administrative offenses. The powers of the National Guard to detect offenses that violate public order are also being expanded. Furthermore, a number of amendments are being made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of Uzbekistan.
It is stated that the law improves public security, reduces the burden on law enforcement officials and allows them to work more with the public.
Moreover, it was noted at the meeting that the role of the National Guard in maintaining public order had also been increased in recent years, but that it was not authorized to deal with administrative offenses relating to the maintenance of public order. Lack of authority was explained with excessive paperwork and confusion.
