The operation of compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations has been temporarily restricted due to a drop in air temperatures, the Ministry of Energy reported on January 20.

According to the ministry, the energy system is currently operating under an enhanced 24-hour режим to ensure uninterrupted supply of energy resources to consumers. The situation in the regions is under constant monitoring, and any emerging technical issues are being addressed promptly.

It was noted that the sharp decline in air temperatures has led to increased demand for natural gas, which in turn has caused a drop in gas pressure within pipelines.

“For this reason, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the operation of automobile gas-filling compressor stations,” the statement said.

The ministry added that these measures are aimed solely at ensuring stable gas supply for the population during cold weather. Once the situation stabilizes, the restrictions will be lifted. Additional information will be provided depending on regional conditions.

At the same time, gas supply to social facilities and public transport vehicles will be ensured without restrictions and will remain stable in order to meet essential public needs.
