Reports circulating on social media suggest that gas stations in Uzbekistan will switch to 24-hour operation by the end of this week. To verify the claims, QALAMPIR.UZ contacted Hasan Toshkhudjayev, the press secretary of the Ministry of Energy.

Toshkhudjayev confirmed that the improvement in natural gas pressure in the pipelines will allow gas compressor stations, which fill cars with gas, to operate 24 hours a day by the end of the week.

Earlier, due to a significant increase in demand for energy resources, particularly as cold weather swept across the country, the daily consumption of natural gas surged by 20 percent compared to the previous week. In response, it was initially planned to introduce short-term restrictions on the operations of gas compressor stations. However, the improved gas pressure now allows the stations to return to full operation.
