Five-star hotel burns down in Tashkent

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a fire broke out at a hotel in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, but it has since been extinguished.

The incident occurred on October 16 at 5:17 p.m., when the ministry received information about a fire on the roof of a hotel undergoing reconstruction on Shahrisabz Street. Fourteen fire-rescue crews were dispatched to the scene and arrived at 5:24 p.m. The fire was contained by 6:19 p.m. and fully extinguished by 7:16 p.m.

Officials, including the Minister of Emergency Situations Major-General Abdulla Koldoshev, the mayor of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov, and representatives from the emergency services, internal affairs, the National Guard, and the prosecutor’s office, were present to oversee the operation.

'No casualties or injuries were reported. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the material damage,' the ministry's report states.
