On January 30, the final round of the UEFA Champions League group stage concluded, determining the 24 teams advancing to the next phase of the tournament.

"Manchester City" clinches quarter-final berth at home country

At the "Etihad" Stadium, Pep Guardiola’s side secured a 3-1 victory, finishing 22nd in the final standings. Despite their defeat, "Brugge" remained in 24th place—enough to qualify for the next round.

With progression to the quarter-finals confirmed, "Manchester City" is now eligible to register new players, as per UEFA regulations. As a result, the club has added Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis, and Omar Marmoush to its squad for the upcoming Round of 16. The team's next opponent will be determined by a draw, with "Real Madrid" or "Bayern" Munich as potential rivals.

PSG delivers a dominant performance

Paris Saint-Germain entered the final round in 22nd place and secured qualification in emphatic fashion. A 4-1 away victory over "Stuttgart" propelled them to 15th in the final standings, ensuring a place in the next stage. Their next opponent will be decided by a draw, with "Benfica" and "Monaco" among the possible challengers.

Eliminated teams

Teams ranked below 24th in the final standings were automatically eliminated from the tournament. Despite securing a home victory against Milan, Dinamo Zagreb failed to advance. Stuttgart, as previously noted, suffered a heavy home defeat to PSG, ending their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals. Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk also saw their campaign come to an end at the group stage.

Other teams that concluded their Champions League journey include Bologna, Red Star Belgrade, Sturm Graz, Sparta Prague, Leipzig, Girona, Salzburg, Slovan Liberec, and Young Boys.

Direct quarter-finalists

Liverpool secured the top spot despite a final-round away loss to PSV. Barcelona finished second after a draw with Atalanta, while Arsenal claimed third place with a victory over Dinamo Zagreb.

Inter, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille, and Aston Villa secured the remaining automatic quarter-final spots, finishing in 3rd through 8th place, respectively.

The draw for teams ranked below 8th in the final standings will take place on January 31, determining their opponents for the next round.
