5223In schools and kindergartens, the collection of compulsory fund contributions from parents is strictly prohibited. This announcement was made on August 28 during a press conference led by the Minister of Pre-school and School Education, Hilola Umarova.
At the conference, journalists raised concerns about compulsory fund contributions being collected from parents in schools. In response, Deputy Minister of Pre-school and School Education, Usmon Sharifkhujayev, provided the following explanation:
"There are schools that utilize off-budget funds. Some schools have introduced additional paid classes and compensate teachers for overtime work. However, it would be misleading to claim that the local budget currently fully supports over 10,000 schools. Collecting money for classroom or school funds is inappropriate. Should such practices occur, parents are encouraged to report them through our hotlines," stated the Deputy Minister.
It was also emphasized that in cases where mandatory fees are imposed, parents can contact the ministry's hotline at +998 71 202 09 09.
We would like to remind you that Hilola Umarova previously disclosed the number of teachers earning more than $1,000 per month.
