According to the "Hewshub" publication, the Uzbek Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Qudratov, recently announced that French President Emmanuel Macron is planning to visit Uzbekistan later this year.  The announcement was made during a meeting of the Uzbekistan-France intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

"To make French President Macron's visit to Uzbekistan this year practical and of value, both governments need to make positive efforts," stated Gudratov.  If the visit does occur, Macron will be the second French president to visit Uzbekistan, following François Mitterrand’s visit to Samarkand in 1994.

It's worth noting that during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to France in November 2022, 14 documents were signed, and agreements were made to carry out projects worth over 6 billion euros.  The two heads of state agreed to elevate the relationship between their countries to a high level of cooperation.  Mirziyoyev also extended an invitation to Macron to visit Uzbekistan.

Overall, the visit of the French President to Uzbekistan is expected to further strengthen the diplomatic ties and economic relations between the two countries.
