70% of the certificates submitted for the master's degree are fake – Toshkulov

10895In the 2022-2023 academic year, 70 percent of those applying for master's degree study presented a fake certificate of foreign language proficiency. On 28 July, the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Abdukodir Toshkulov, stated this at a meeting on the transparent conduct of creative and professional exams.
At the meeting, Toshkulov strongly criticized the fact that 70 percent of the certificates presented for the master’s degree are forged.
The minister gave the necessary instructions to the officials to strictly control this situation, to check the certificates once again with the participation of experts after the admission is completed, and to expel those who submitted fake certificates from studies.
The main focus of the meeting was the transparent and impartial conduct of the creative, professional exams, which started on the same day. Toshkulov stressed the need to create sufficient conditions for professors, teachers, and specialists involved in the supervision of exams, including the need to encourage specialists who have shown honesty in the fair conduct of the process with a large amount of additional monetary rewards.
The total number of admission parameters for the fields of study where the professional exam is held is 2,515. According to the data, the number of applicants who have registered and chosen educational courses has exceeded 1,200,000. 60,177 applicants are registered in the fields of education that require a special talent, and 66,371 are registered in the fields of education where a professional (creative) exam is held together with the test.
It should be remembered that in accordance with the decision of the president of Uzbekistan "On the organization of admission processes to state higher education institutions", the average score of the applicant for a master's degree and foreign language based on the score of the relevant national or international certificate of proficiency, strictly following the sequence of scores.
