The head of the Research Institute of Criminology, Colonel and Doctor of Law Bakhtiyor Berdialiev, reported at a recent briefing that steps are being taken to produce electronic bracelets for prisoners.

Following a research project conducted at the Institute, a methodology, electronic bracelet device, and accompanying software for remote monitoring of individuals sentenced to house arrest or restricted liberty have been developed. Efforts are now underway to obtain intellectual property documentation, as well as to produce and commercialize these electronic bracelets.

Additionally, regulations for the Criminology, Degree-granting, and Institute Councils at the Research Institute of Criminology have been developed and approved.

It is worth noting that on August 7 this year, President Mirziyoyev signed the "On Probation" Law in Uzbekistan, which mandates the use of electronic bracelets for individuals under probation who are administratively liable for offenses related to public order while serving sentences of restricted liberty.
