29003Previously, a video surfaced on social media showing Dilorom Jabborova, a speech therapist, purportedly "treating" a child with stuttering by using profanity and threats. This sparked widespread discussions and prompted investigations by the department coordinating the activities of the DIA of Yunusobod district. Now, it has been revealed that a criminal case has been launched in response to this incident, as reported by the Children's Ombudsman.
According to reports, prior to the investigation led by the investigation unit of the DIA of Yunusobod district, the prosecutor's office of Yunusobod district reviewed the investigation materials as part of oversight. Based on the conclusions of an expert working group and other findings, it was determined that Jabborova's actions constituted fraud and abuse of trust, involving deceitful acquisition of property. Consequently, on February 27 of this year, a criminal case was initiated under Article 168, Part 1 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code.
Presently, the investigative department of the department coordinating the activities of the DIA of Yunusobod district is conducting preliminary inquiries into the criminal case.
Additionally, the Children's Ombudsman has requested a scientific and professional evaluation of Dilorom Jabborova's practices. Following an assessment by a group of qualified speech therapists, it was concluded that Jabborova's methods lack scientific basis and represent a narrow and primitive approach to addressing the complex issue of stuttering. Moreover, the mental and physical violence employed by Jabborova to address stuttering poses serious risks to children's health and educational well-being, contravening pedagogical principles.
The Children's Ombudsman affirmed his commitment to monitoring the case to ensure the best interests of the child are upheld.
