40658Hungary's Wizzair Airlines will introduce Uzbek language services on flights to Uzbekistan. This initiative follows a report by the Competition and Consumer Protection Committee aimed at enhancing service quality and consumer rights.
The Competition Committee reviewed an appeal from the Center for Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, submitted in connection with a Wizzair Abu Dhabi flight on the Abu Dhabi-Tashkent route. The complaint highlighted the absence of Uzbek language services onboard, raising concerns about the airline's customer service standards.
According to the Committee, during the flight, a passenger requested safety instructions in Uzbek. However, the airline employee reportedly refused the request, which the authorities deemed disrespectful. Despite the situation, the passenger successfully reached Abu Dhabi without further incident.
In response, the Committee sent an official request to the Department of Transportation. As a result, disciplinary measures were taken against the airline staff involved. Additionally, the airline implemented training programs for crew members on customer service protocols and flight safety procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Starting in 2025, Wizzair Airlines will ensure the presence of Uzbek-speaking staff on all flights serving Uzbekistan, enhancing accessibility and customer satisfaction.
