Bakhtiyor Rahmonov, acting as the mayor of Tashkent, decided to call the deputies to a session of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies.  Former deputy Rasul Kusherboyev expressed his reaction to the decision.

According to Kusherboyev, it was suggested to the deputies that they consider the status of social and economic development of the city of Tashkent city, the implementation of the 2022 state program, the allocation of additional resources of the local budget in 2023 to expenses, as well as other undisclosed issues.

“Most likely, in the section of other issues on the agenda, the deputies will consider the issues of chairmanship of the Council, deputyship and immunity of the former governor Jahangir Ortiqkhojayev.  We expect deputies to make decisions with common sense and responsibility,” said the former deputy.

For information, the 77th session of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies will be held on 27 January of this year with the participation of the new Tashkent city mayor Bakhtiyor Rahmanov.

It should be recalled that the People’s Deputies expressed gratitude for the contribution and assistance to the development of the city after Jahangir Ortiqkhojayev, the Mayor of the Tashkent City Council, was dismissed from his job.  But soon this message was deleted.  After that, the deputy chairman of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies, Tashpolat Matiboyev, made a statement denying that the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies issued an appeal to Ortiqkhojayev.

Earlier, “Can Rasul Kusherboyev be the mayor of Tashkent?”  to the question, Kusherboyev said that if he was offered the job of mayor, he would consider it.  But before that, he stated that conditions should be created in the authorities that would allow them to work in the interests of the people and not just a group of individuals.
