Kamil Allamjonov was attacked in Tashkent region

Kamil Allamjonov, a former official in Uzbekistan’s Presidential Administration, survived an armed attack. This was reported by "Ozodlik."

According to the report, on October 26, Allamjonov was attacked by an armed assailant near his home in the Kibrai district of the Tashkent region. Two unknown individuals reportedly fired multiple shots at the car he was in before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, Allamjonov was unharmed.

After stepping down as head of the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Allamjonov was expected to continue his career in the private sector.

Allamjonov was born on September 18, 1984, in Tashkent. He began his career with "Davr," an informative program on the "Yoshlar" television and radio channel of Uzbekistan’s National Television and Radio Company.

From 2005 to 2013, Allamjonov served as the head of the Press Service of the State Tax Committee. From December 1, 2017, to October 3, 2018, he worked as deputy head of the Presidential Administration and served as the President’s press secretary.

On November 29, 2018, he became the director of the Information and Mass Communications Agency. He left this role in January 2020 to chair the Board of Trustees of the Public Fund for the Support and Development of National Mass Media. In July 2022, Allamjonov was appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, and in August 2023, he became head of the Administration’s Information Policy Department, serving until September 2024.
