A trade center with Uzbekistan will be established in Kirov

4948The government of the Kirov region of Russia wants to choose land for the creation of a trade center with Uzbekistan. Mikhail Sandalov, Deputy Chairman of the Kirov Government, informed about this.
Yesterday, July 19, a meeting was held between the governor of Kirov, Alexander Sokolov, and the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, Fariddin Nasriyev.
"In order to expand trade relations with Asia, we are choosing a plot of land to create the largest trade center with Uzbekistan. We have the largest railway marshalling yard in Eurasia in Lyangasovo, a road north of us. We are waiting for vegetables to be delivered to the Republic of Komi," says Sandalov.
However, he did not disclose the project implementation period and investment amount.
The head of the Kirov region noted the convenient location of the region in terms of logistics.
"On the one hand, the region is located on the Trans-Siberian railway, on the other hand, there is a road to the north: a direct road through us from Asia to the White Sea," says Sokolov.
He also emphasized that the Kirov region and Uzbekistan are reliable partners.
"We know Uzbekistan as a stable and respected partner; the volume of trade is increasing, and there is interest in Uzbek culture. There is every reason to increase cooperation and strengthen it with real works and projects. We have wood, mechanical engineering, and chemical industries. This is of interest to Uzbek partners," he says.
Fariddin Nasriyev said that last year the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and the Kirov region was about 30 million dollars.
"We saw the desire to cooperate with the Republic of Uzbekistan, and we agreed to hold a session in the format of a video conference in the near future and invited entrepreneurs to the forum in Uzbekistan. In addition, we met with students studying in the Kirov region and agreed with the university that they are ready to accept more students," says Nasriyev.
Cooperation with Uzbekistan:
According to the government of the Kirov region, Uzbekistan is one of the largest trading partners of the region. According to the results of last year, the republic took the third place among the CIS countries in terms of foreign trade turnover of the Kirov region.
During the year, the exchange of goods increased by 46.8%, and the export volume increased by 54%. Wood and products made from it, coal, aluminum, ferrous metals, plastic, and products made from them prevail in the product composition of exports.
In the import of goods, tailoring, knitted fabrics, and cotton take the leading place.
The humanitarian cooperation of the Kirov region with Uzbekistan is also developing consistently. Regional higher educational institutions have concluded five cooperation agreements with higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and are implementing joint educational programs. It holds scientific-research and scientific-practical conferences, organizes internships for professors and teachers, and students. 95 students from the Republic of Uzbekistan are studying in higher educational institutions of the Kirov region.
