4277An Uzbek citizen who sustained severe injuries in a road accident in Croatia has been successfully repatriated to Uzbekistan. This was reported by Dunyo news agency.
The individual, identified as N.S., traveled to Zagreb, Croatia, in 2024 for work. On November 29, 2024, N.S. was involved in a traffic accident and suffered serious injuries, requiring hospitalization at Zagreb’s central hospital. Throughout this period, N.S. remained under continuous medical supervision.
From the very beginning of the incident, Uzbekistan’s embassy in Croatia actively monitored the situation. The diplomatic mission communicated closely with doctors and hospital officials regarding the victim’s condition. Regular updates were also shared with N.S.’s family members to ensure transparency and provide reassurance.
Considering the individual’s health, Uzbekistan’s embassy collaborated with the Migration Agency and the Ministry of Health to bring a highly skilled medical specialist to Croatia. These coordinated efforts resulted in N.S.’s successful return to Uzbekistan on April 11, 2025.
Upon arrival in Uzbekistan, N.S. was admitted to a specialized medical facility to continue necessary treatment.
The embassy also ensured that all medical expenses incurred were covered by an insurance company and the employer, eliminating any financial burden on the victim.
Earlier, Uzbekistan’s embassy in Azerbaijan facilitated the return of another citizen in a critical situation abroad.
