New university to be established in Khorezm

6902A university and a specialized school named after the great scientist Al-Khorezmiy will be established in Urgench, Khorezm region. The announcement was made on April 30 during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s review of the project presentation.
The Al-Khorezmiy University will include three faculties: Mathematics and Informatics, Aerospace Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. It will train specialists in economics, information technologies, industry, security, energy, and ecology. Instruction will be conducted in Uzbek and English under a credit-module system.
The university’s educational model will be based on the experience of New Uzbekistan University, in partnership with leading institutions from the UAE, China, and Great Britain. Admissions are planned to start in the 2025-2026 academic year, with an expected student body of 4,000 to 6,000.
Additionally, a branch of the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi School from Tashkent will be established on campus for selected 4th grade graduates, focusing on engineering preparation during the final two years of education.
President Mirziyoyev stressed that the university campus should harmoniously reflect Khorezm’s historical, scientific, and tourism potential. An official document on the establishment of these modern educational institutions was signed.
