An inspector from the Khorezm National Nature Park sustained injuries while on duty, according to a report by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

Approximately 3,000 gujum saplings, planted in spring 2024 as part of the "Green Space(Yashil makon)" national project, have perished. This occurred because the protective barriers around the field were breached, allowing water to be diverted for rice cultivation at the “Amudaryo oltin baliq” farm, adjacent to the nature park. Saplings were submerged for several days as a result. The park administration issued a warning to the farm, stating that if the water was not drained within a day, over 3,000 seedlings would be lost, leading to administrative penalties.

"Despite the warning, the farm's head, A.O., disregarded it and entered the garden area around midnight on June 4 to open the water supply. The inspector on duty noticed and attempted to prevent the violation. However, A.O., who was intoxicated, resisted and assaulted the inspector, causing injuries," the report stated.

The inspector was taken to the Yangibozor district emergency medical facility and is currently receiving the necessary treatment.

Documentation regarding the incident has been submitted to the Yangibozor District Department of the Khorezm Region Internal Affairs Department for legal proceedings.

For context, the head of the “Amudaryo oltin baliq” farm, A.O., had previously committed an offense in the Khorezm National Nature Park and was penalized by the court.

Additionally, in a related incident in Tashkent, individuals were fined 27 million soums for illegal tree cutting.
