Strong dust storms blew off the roofs of homes in Khorezm and Navoi

Today 21 May, a strong dust storm hit the Khorezm and Navoi regions.  This is reported by the press service under the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It is noted that at 10:45 in the city of Urgench, Khorezm region, the wind blew the roof of a house on Abulgazi Bakhodirkhan street in an area of about 70 square meters, and tossed it into a nearby parking lot.  As a result, the «Gentra» car which was parked in the parking lot was partially damaged.

The slate coating of a private house in the “G’alaba” (victory) neighborhood citizens’ gathering (neighborhood citizens’ gathering -territorial unit) of the Urgench district on an area of about 80 square meters was pulled down by the wind.  No one was injured on the site.

Strong wind in Uchkuduk district of Navoi region (oblast) demolished the slates and sheets in the area of about 5 square meters from the roof of a house in “Dustlik” neighborhood citizens’ gathering and about 4 square meters from the roof of 2 houses in “Yulchilar” neighborhood citizens’ gathering.

No applications on the injuries of the residents as a result of the incident, have been submitted to the relevant bodies of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and medical institutions.

“In this regard, as strong winds and rains are expected in the country between May 21-23, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is warning citizens about the strong winds which may cause the demolition to roofs of residential buildings, socio-economic facilities, and structures, the collapse of outdoor advertising structures and trees, or the risk of breakage, probable floods and floods-related accidents in mountain and mountain areas” - a report says.

It should be noted that in some zones of Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions (oblast) intensive dust storms occurred.
