Drunken Driver hits head of Khiva city DIA in Damas Incident

The Head of the Khiva City Internal Affairs Department was struck by a drunken Damas driver, as reported by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The incident occurred on Amir Temur Street in Khiva at 00:10 on June 25, according to official reports. The driver, born in 1993, was traveling in a Damas vehicle towards the intersection of Elabad Street when he collided with Lieutenant Colonel Botir Otajonov. Colonel Botir Otajonov, who was crossing the street in front of the Khiva City Internal Affairs Department administrative building towards the DIA building, was hit by the vehicle.
In response to the incident, law enforcement authorities have launched a criminal case under Article 266 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the violation of safety rules for the movement or use of vehicles.
An ongoing investigation is currently underway, and the victim has been hospitalized in a serious condition.
