Uzbek wanted for major crimes arrested in Egypt

An Uzbek national, T.X.M., who was wanted for theft and large-scale extortion, has been arrested in Egypt and extradited to Uzbekistan, according to the Dunyo news agency.
T.X.M. had been on the international wanted list by the Interpol National Central Bureau in Uzbekistan for committing serious crimes. Reports indicate that the individual had been hiding in Egypt for some time under the guise of a student. In January 2025, he was detained during an operation carried out jointly by the Interpol office in Cairo and Egyptian law enforcement agencies.
This arrest follows a similar case where an Uzbek citizen, also on the international wanted list, was detained in Russia for selling cars that did not belong to him. The investigation revealed that in June 2024, he had sold two cars, totaling $14,000, without the proper ownership rights.
