The Uzbekistan national football team is currently holding training sessions in Doha, Qatar. However, head coach Srechko Katanets is unable to participate due to a deterioration in his health, according to the Football Association of Uzbekistan (UFA).

“Today, the national team of Uzbekistan begins its training camp in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Unfortunately, head coach Srechko Katanets will not be joining this session due to his worsening health condition. Assistant coaches Alesh Chekh and Vlado Radmanovich will oversee the team during this period. We wish Srechko Katanets a swift recovery,” stated the UFA press release.

This is not the first time Katanets has faced health challenges that have prevented him from fulfilling his coaching duties. In June 2023, he missed the CAFA Nations Cup match against Turkmenistan in Tashkent. More recently, in October 2024, his health also kept him from leading the team during World Cup qualifiers against Iran and the UAE.
