4416In the Fergana region, a man was arrested for demanding money from a young man who allegedly had an extramarital relationship with his stepdaughter. This was reported by the press service of the Supreme Court.
The incident unfolded in Kokand, where the stepfather, in collusion with his wife and stepdaughter, devised a scheme to extort money from the young man. Upon discovering the relationship, the parents and the girl planned to exploit the situation for financial gain.
The stepfather called the young man and threatened him, claiming he had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with his stepdaughter. He insisted that the young man either marry her or face severe consequences, such as being exposed at home, work, or even reported to law enforcement. In exchange for dropping these threats, the father demanded $500.
During a sting operation, the stepfather and stepdaughter were apprehended while receiving 3.6 million sums.
The court found the stepfather guilty of extortion under Article 165, Part 2, Subparagraph "v" of the Criminal Code, sentencing him to three years in prison.
This case follows a recent incident in Tashkent, where a criminal group extorting money from Azerbaijani nationals was detained.
