The first deputy governor of Kokand, A. Nurmatov, who had been arrested on charges of bribery, was sentenced to 5.5 years imprisonment.

A. Nurmatov, first deputy governor of Kokand, and O. Mamajanov, deputy head of the finance department of “Kokand Regional Railway Hub” have been sentenced by the court.

The Besharyk district court on criminal cases considered the criminal case and sentenced Nurmatov to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment, while Mamajanov was given the imprisonment of 5 years and 3 months.

It should be noted that, A. Nurmatov was detained together with the deputy head of the financial department of the Kokand regional railway hub O.M. The two officials conspired and demanded $180,000 from a businessman in exchange for a decision in his favor at an auction of buildings and structures on a land area of 2.5 hectares, which is on the balance of the railway hub.

They were arrested by the operational staff of relevant bodies while receiving $10,000 of the required money.
