Heavy snowfall and extreme cold: Uzbeks in Kazakhstan urged to take precautions

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan has issued a warning to Uzbek citizens residing or traveling through Kazakhstan about potential travel difficulties due to a sharp deterioration in weather conditions.  

According to "Kazhydromet," a storm warning is in effect across Kazakhstan from 8:00 PM on January 21 until 8:00 PM on January 23. Heavy snowfall, strong winds, and extreme cold are expected in multiple regions, posing risks for travel and outdoor activities.

1. Akmola Region
   - Heavy snowfall on January 22.  
   - Fog in the south and east of the region.  
   - Wind speeds of 15-20 m/s, occasionally reaching 23-28 m/s.  
   - Nighttime temperatures dropping to -20°C to -25°C, and -17°C in the east.  

2. Kostanay Region  
   - Snowstorms in the north, south, and east.  
   - Fog in the west.  
   - Wind speeds of 15-20 m/s, reaching 23-28 m/s.  
   - Night temperatures between -23°C to -28°C, and -20°C in the south and east.  

3. North Kazakhstan Region
   - Heavy snowfall in the north and east.  
   - Wind speeds of 15-20 m/s, occasionally 23-28 m/s.  
   - Night temperatures dropping to -25°C to -30°C, and -20°C in the south.  

4. Pavlodar Region  
   - Heavy snow in the west and north at night.  
   - Wind speeds of 15-20 m/s, reaching 23-28 m/s.  
   - Nighttime temperatures between -10°C to -15°C, and -18°C in the west.  

5. Ulitau Region
   - Snowstorms and heavy snowfall.  
   - Winds of 15-20 m/s, occasionally 23-28 m/s.  
   - Night temperatures between -17°C to -22°C, and -13°C in the east.  

6. Karaganda Region  
   - Heavy snowfall in the north and east.  
   - Winds of 15-20 m/s, occasionally reaching 23-28 m/s.  
   - Night temperatures ranging from -10°C to -25°C.  

7. West, North, and West Kazakhstan Regions
   - Fog in eastern areas.  
   - Winds at 15-20 m/s.  
   - Nighttime temperatures between -15°C to -20°C, and -12°C in the west.  

8. Atyrau Region  
   - Fog in western and northern areas.  
   - Winds of 15-20 m/s.  
   - Night temperatures dropping to -10°C to -20°C.  

9. Mangistau Region
   - Fog in western and northern parts.  
   - Winds of 15-20 m/s.  
   - Night temperatures between -11°C to -16°C.  

10. Aktobe Region
    - Snowstorms and fog in the west.  
    - Winds at 15-20 m/s.  
    - Night temperatures between -17°C to -25°C.  

11. Abay Region
    - Heavy precipitation (rain and snow) in the south and center.  
    - Winds of 15-20 m/s, occasionally exceeding 30 m/s.  
    - Nighttime temperatures dropping sharply to -15°C to -25°C.  

The Embassy of Uzbekistan has urged its citizens to exercise caution while traveling, strictly follow all road safety rules, and avoid unnecessary journeys during these hazardous weather conditions.  

Heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures have been observed on Kazakhstan's major roads, significantly affecting traffic flow. Citizens are advised to stay informed and take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
