An Uzbek man who stole a policeman's gun in Kazakhstan was imprisoned for 3 years

A citizen of Uzbekistan, who stole a combat weapon left by a policeman in a toilet in Kazakhstan, was imprisoned for 3 years.  This was reported by the "Kaztag.kz" publication.

It is noted that the incident took place on 19 September 2022, in the city of Astana.  At that time, the accused was called to the police station for an interview regarding his deportation from Kazakhstan.  After the procedure, the man entered the toilet and took the pistol and cartridges belonging to the police officer working there.  Then he left the police building.

With the help of surveillance cameras, the identity of the criminal was determined, and the sentence against him was read in the Yesil District Court of Astana.

Regarding the situation, Article 291, Part 1 (theft or extortion of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and explosive devices) and Article 287, Part 3 (weapons, ammunition, explosives) of the Criminal Code and the illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of explosive devices) have been found guilty of committing criminal offenses.  He was sentenced to three years in prison.
