In the city of Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, 10 Uzbekistan citizens were involved in forced labor and were violently held by local residents.  This was reported by the "Dunyo" news agency.

It is noted that 3 citizens of Uzbekistan appealed to the Consulate General of the country for help in rescuing 10 people who were forcibly detained.  The applicants said that a group of residents threatened them with violence, kept them in their private houses, and took away their belongings and mobile phones.

A criminal case was initiated against the criminals under Article 389 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan.

After investigative measures were conducted and national passports and personal belongings were returned to the citizens of Uzbekistan, on 1 August of the current year, all citizens were escorted to the bus station on the Alma-OTA-Tashkent route.  Citizens arrived safely in Uzbekistan.
