3775The "Korasuv" border customs post, located in the city of Karasuv in the Kurgantepa district of Andijan region, has resumed operations after a 15-year hiatus. This was reported by the Customs Committee.
According to the report, the reopening of the "Korasuv" checkpoint in Uzbekistan and the "Korasuv" checkpoint in Kyrgyzstan follows an agreement between the two heads of state.
The "Korasuv" border customs post covers an area of more than 3 hectares, where extensive construction work has been completed. The post is now equipped to handle over 12,000 passengers daily.
The checkpoint features primarily enclosed structures for passenger movement. It is designed to facilitate rapid and efficient customs control and clearance. The reopening of this post is expected to provide several benefits for citizens of neighboring countries.
For instance, the distance from the Osh region of Kyrgyzstan to the Jalalabad region, which was previously 120 km, has now been reduced to 101 km, with only 19 km being covered through Uzbekistan.
We remind you that preparations for the reopening of the Karasuv checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border were previously reported.
