Under the supervision of the Interpol National Central Bureau in the Republic of Uzbekistan, an Uzbek citizen wanted by law enforcement agencies through Interpol channels for human trafficking and who had been hiding in Turkey for a long time, was extradited from Istanbul to Tashkent. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
It was noted that the woman lured girls with promises of high-paying jobs and took them to Turkey for the purpose of exploitation. Once there, she confiscated their passports and forced them into prostitution.
Thanks to close and prompt cooperation between the Interpol National Central Bureaus of the two countries, a successful joint operation was carried out, resulting in her detention and extradition to Tashkent.
It was reported that law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey are currently taking active measures to uncover and prevent such crimes.
It should be recalled that two women who were previously wanted by the Interpol National Central Bureau in Uzbekistan were earlier extradited from Muscat, Oman. Both were charged with fraud and human trafficking.
