Several Uzbek nationals wanted for fraud have been detained in Turkey and deported to Uzbekistan following joint operations by the Ministries of Internal Affairs of both countries, the Uzbek Consulate General in Istanbul reported.

Those returned include A.G., born in 1982 in the Bukhara region; B.Sh., born in 1992 in the Samarkand region; and M.G., born in 1970 in the Navoi region.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urged citizens who have suffered from the actions of these individuals to contact its official systems or the Consulate General in Istanbul. The ministry emphasized that prosecution of individuals fleeing abroad to evade justice will continue and that punishment for their crimes will be enforced.

Officials also noted a recent increase in complaints submitted to the Consulate General regarding fraud cases.

“Citizens are asked to remain vigilant and cautious to avoid being deceived by fraudsters,” the statement read.

For reference, another Uzbek citizen accused of fraud was previously arrested in Istanbul and deported to Uzbekistan.
