Two Uzbek individuals, who were wanted, have been expelled from Turkey

Two Uzbeks arrested in Turkey for alleged misappropriation of a substantial sum of citizens' money have been sent back to Uzbekistan. The Consulate General in Istanbul confirmed this information via its press service.

Fakhriddin, wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan since 2022, faced accusations of fraudulent embezzlement during a joint operational effort between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkey. Shakarboev (born in 1965) and Humoyunbek Mardonov (born in 1992), sought since 2018 for embezzlement charges, were apprehended in Istanbul on January 12.

On January 30, these individuals were deported from Istanbul airport to Uzbekistan, with diplomats from the general consulate participating in the process.

The report advises affected citizens to contact the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul or the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. It also mentions that collaborative search operations will be consistently pursued in Turkey.
