Judge’s assistant detained with $2,500 bribe in Karshi

An assistant to a judge of the Karshi District Criminal Court was detained while receiving a $2,500 bribe. The State Security Service reported this.

According to the report, he told a citizen who had started working in May this year at a department of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement in one of the districts of Kashkadarya region that he had helped secure the job through his official acquaintances. He also promised to later transfer the citizen to a Bureau department in a district of his choice and demanded $2,500 in return.

During an operation conducted by officers of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the judge’s assistant was caught with physical evidence while receiving the requested money in his office.

A criminal case has been opened against him, and investigative actions are underway.

Earlier, it was reported that the head of a law enforcement division in Tashkent had been detained for bribery.
