Illegal power connection in Karshi leads to 1 billion UZS loss

5172In Karshi city, Kashkadarya region, an employee of the electric grid company colluded with a farmer to misappropriate 1 billion 50 million UZS worth of electricity. This was reported by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
It was revealed that the Karshi city electric grid company employee, B.A., and the head of the “S” farm enterprise, U.T., conspired to illegally connect two makeshift oil production devices in the farm’s warehouse to the power grid, stealing electricity worth 1 billion 50 million UZS.
A criminal case has been initiated against B.A. and others under Article 169, Part 4, Section “a” (Theft) of the Criminal Code, and they have been detained as per procedural regulations.
Earlier, it was reported that in the Gijduvon district of the Bukhara region, 2.1 billion UZS worth of electricity was misappropriated in an illegally established mining farm.
