Gas filling stations in Tashkent and the Samarkand region have been caught stealing energy resources valued at 4.8 billion sums. The Department of Combating Economic Crimes reported the discovery.

In a pre-investigation conducted by the Yunusabad district office, in collaboration with employees of the "Hududgaz Poytakht" gas supply branch, it was found that the head of "B." LLC, T.A., and others had tampered with the gas meter at a car gas filling station owned by the company. As a result, they illegally consumed 1.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, causing 2.7 billion sums in damage to state and societal interests.

Similarly, in a pre-investigation led by the department’s Samarkand regional office, in cooperation with the regional department of "Ozenergoinspektsiya," it was revealed that the head of "M.G." LLC, S.R., had altered the connection scheme of the electricity meter at a gas filling station in Pastdargom district. This allowed them to illegally use electricity worth 2.1 billion sums for commercial purposes.

Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing.

It is worth noting that a similar case was recently uncovered in Khorezm, where a farmer was caught stealing 2 billion sums worth of electricity.
