The government has increased the amount of compensation paid to military personnel for renting housing. This change was formalized by a government resolution, “On Amendments and Addenda to Certain Resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the Strengthening of Social Protection of Military Personnel,” adopted on April 9.

According to the resolution, the monthly monetary compensation for renting housing has been raised by 20%. The revised amounts are as follows:

- In Tashkent: up to 4.8 times the minimum wage (1.8 million soums).
- In Nukus and regional centers: up to 3.6 times the minimum wage (1.3 million soums).
- In other cities, district centers, and settlements: up to 2 times the minimum wage (750 thousand soums).

Additionally, starting from June 1, 2025, military personnel with over 10 years of service will receive a 35% initial payment when applying for a mortgage loan to purchase or construct housing. Previously, this amount was set at 25%.

To further support the families of deceased or disabled military personnel, if they were provided housing through a long-term preferential mortgage loan, the remaining loan balance and accrued interest will be fully reimbursed from the State Budget.
