A citizen of Uzbekistan, a 78-year-old man, passed away on Uzbekistan Airways flight HY271 from Tashkent to Istanbul. The emergency landing occurred in Ankara on January 11.

The individual, born in 1946, was traveling to Istanbul for medical treatment but suffered a heart attack during the flight. Despite immediate first aid and attempts at resuscitation, the passenger did not survive.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey has facilitated consular and legal support, with the deceased's body being repatriated to Uzbekistan on January 12.
