Are there Uzbeks among the victims of the explosion in Istanbul?

There were no Uzbeks among the victims of the terrorist attack that took place yesterday 13 November, in Istanbul, one of Turkey's largest megacities.  KALAMPIR.UZ provided information about this concerning Turkish official agencies.

6 people were killed and 81 injured in an explosion on Istiqlal Street in Taksim Square, which is a popular tourist destination.

The mayor of Istanbul, Ali Yerlikoya, revealed the identity of the victims through his page on the social network.

Citizens named Arzu Ozsoy and her daughter Yagmur Uchar, Yusuf Maydon and his daughter Ecrin Maydon, and Adem Topqora and his wife Muqaddas Elif Topqora were killed in the explosion.

He noted that the treatment of 50 wounded people admitted to the hospital was completed and they were allowed to go home.  Treatment of 31 wounded people is still ongoing.  2 out of 5 injured patients in the intensive care unit are in serious condition.

The Minister of Family and Social Services, Daryo Yonik, announced on his social network page that Yusuf Maidan, who died in the explosion with his 9-year-old daughter Eskrin, is an employee of the ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the country's embassy in Turkey, including the consulate in Istanbul, did not provide information about whether there were Uzbeks killed or injured in the explosion.

It should be recalled that yesterday afternoon, 13 November, a powerful explosion occurred on the famous and crowded Istiklal street in Istanbul's Beyoğli district.

According to official information, six people were killed and more than 80 were injured as a result of the explosion.  The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said earlier that there was a trace of terrorism in the incident.  Later, the vice president of the republic, Fuat Oktay, said that the explosive device was set off by a woman.
