Foreign nationals who remained in Israel following the recent strike on Iran may now leave the country via special flights. This was announced by Israeli Minister of Transportation Miri Regev, according to "The Times of Israel".

Regev stated that exit flights for foreigners would be allowed starting June 23. The Israeli government had previously imposed a ban on outbound flights to prevent overcrowding at airports and to reduce the number of aircraft on runways for security reasons.

According to Regev, 24 repatriation flights are scheduled to operate on June 23, although not all flights will be granted clearance.

“We must limit the number of passengers at the airport, especially while planes are taking off and landing safely,” she said.

Regev added that the government may consider increasing the number of permitted passengers and flights by the end of the week. As per the report, over 40,000 foreign nationals are currently in Israel, many of whom have been unable to leave due to the ongoing restrictions.

Due to limited capacity, priority will be given to individuals in life-threatening situations, humanitarian missions, and those involved in national security efforts.

Earlier, several countries had begun evacuating their citizens from both Israel and Iran via air, land, and sea routes.
