On February 12, a government commission met with entrepreneurs in the Andijan region to discuss the challenges they face. During the meeting, the foreign owner of a textile factory in Izboskan district said gas shortages were seriously hindering operations.

“Our factory must operate 24 hours a day, but gas supplies are being cut off. It takes one to two hours to restore the supply. As a result, our work stops for 8–10 hours, and we have to restart the entire process. We export products worth $8–10 million annually, but gas shortages are slowing our operations,” the entrepreneur said.

Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev stressed the need to resolve the issue, asking how the problem could be addressed, noting that gas pressure drops in winter and affects product quality.

Deputy Energy Minister Umid Mamadaminov said measures would be taken to supply electricity for heating while ensuring uninterrupted gas delivery for industrial production.

Khojayev also emphasized the need to develop a project to guarantee gas supplies for entrepreneurs.

“Despite what Hududgaz says, pressure drops in winter. Develop a program to provide concrete support for entrepreneurs,” the official said.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev had stated during a meeting with entrepreneurs in Karakalpakstan that permits are currently not being issued for the construction of new methane gas stations because existing ones are already struggling to receive sufficient gas supplies.
